  • CHINA. Hubei Province. Wuhan. A woman 'performs' with a snake in Wuhan zoo. In many of China's 'second-tier' cities, away from the modern zoos in the megacities of Beijing and Shanghai, hide a plethora of smaller unknown zoos. Living in awful conditions, these animals spend there days entertaining tourists who seem oblivious to the animals' plight and squalid existence. 2008.
