Red Striped Gargoyle Gecko (Rhacodactylus auriculatus) - Least Concern - Only found on island of New Caledonia, South Pacific. Deforestation threatens its habitat and the species is being considered for protection by CITES to prevent export. "Habitat is vulnerable to the expanding nickel mining industry..Although the past illegal trade in this species has now largely abated due to the ease with which it can be bred in captivity, readily accessible populations are still at risk."
