Piles of bricks in Dongzhuangying Village, on the southern outskirts of Beijing. Villagers have been building new extensions to their properties in-light of news that their village will be destroyed to make way for a new city airport. Villagers will be compensated more depending on the area of their homes, resulting in new buildings appearing across the village, as villagers anticipate higher amounts of compensation from local government.
