With no heating in their garage-home, the family must huddle together as much as possible in order to share their body heat. As the global financial crisis grips Asia, Mongolia is feeling the implications first hand as the country suffers from rising inflation pushing the price of food and fuel ever upwards. For the country’s homeless, who live in sewers and abandoned garages in the capital and already face extreme discrimination and are denied access to basic health and social care, their lives are hanging in the balance. 2008
